In the past six years, my dogs and I have seen a lot of this country. I take a lot of photos when I travel and my favorites are usually the shots with my border collie mixes Bowie and Dio (short for D.O.G.). Without the dogs, it’s just a pretty picture, but with them it’s a place I’ve been, a place I know and love. From time to time I’ll post some of my favorite photos on here from my travels with Bowie and D.O.G. Today: Oregon!
Oregon was the first place I lived after spending most of my life in eastern Pennsylvania. Originally, I road tripped out there to spend a few weeks or months working on my Uncle’s organic seed farm, but I loved the place so much, I ended up staying for a year and a half. Four days a week I worked on the farm and every weekend I went hiking somewhere different.
From my cabin in Wren, the Pacific Ocean, Cascade volcanoes, Eastern desert and the central river valleys were all within a few hour’s drive and I was in love with the sheer diversity of Oregon’s landscapes. To this day, when people ask me if I had to settle down somewhere for awhile, where would it be? I always say Oregon.
Beautiful. My friend recently moved there with her husband for a few months and I am loving her reports and photos. And of course, I am loving yours too…and those dogs. Great companions aren’t they.
