Crossing Montana: Gathering Storm

Storm Clouds, Big Sky, Cute Teardrop

When crossing the Plains, you don’t have to seek out trails to go for a hike. Just pull over anywhere and start walking away from the road, towards the horizon. On my way east, I stopped along highway 200 to let the dogs run through the tall grass and watch a storm swirl above the plains. Under that big Montana sky, the only weather more photogenic than blue skies is storm clouds.

Ah-you captured why I love the plains–the skies–the grasses–the vastness. Most folks just go though without looking.

Guess that is why it’s called Big Sky Country. Love Montana and our country.
